I try my best to stay away from “theme days” on the blog if I can help it. Not for any other reason than I will feel guilty if a day rolls around and I forget/choose not to post on that days assigned theme.
Because I know I look forward to other blogs that have those themes, and I always anticipate their new posts. I have toyed around with the idea of a few on here like weekend recaps on Mondays. Which if I am honest I do post those on occasions. As well as other “theme days”.
Where am I going with all of this? I have read several posts lately that talk about the pressures of blogging, the time you put into it, why you blog, how you feel if you miss a day, etc. As I have already stated I like to use my blog as a journal of sorts. It is so fun to look back at how things were a year ago, and it is a convenient little collection of recipes without having binders around with papers falling out! But I have to admit some days you just don’t have much to say or time to say it.
So I have decided to assign some little “themes” to this lovely little blog. I am going to tell you now that I will not follow this on a weekly schedule. I am only doing this for fun. Oh and for the simple fact that when I have some of those no time not much to say days I will have a blog post, lol! 🙂
- Menu Mondays (this one will be weekly just because it helps me journal my food choices and I menu plan weekly)
- Two for Tuesdays – can be anything (actually two things) that I have found inspiring/motivating/interesting for the past week
- WIAW – I mean come on I have to still join Jenn’s party weekly when I can!!
- Throwback Thursdays – simply a throwback to the past, old photos, old stories, etc.
- Fashion Fridays – come on you knew that one was coming! As much as I shop and play on pinterest I have to have a day for my second true love!
So there you have it. Sometimes there will be weekly posts on certain “theme days”, other times not – simply because I may have something else I would like to post about. The beauty of having your very own blog is that all things are left up to you!!

What a cute idea, Helen! I agree that theme days make it easier to come up with a post. And I am glad you are making realistic guidelines for your theme days. I did “Meal Plan Monday” a few times a while back and have kinda been toying with the idea of bringing it back. Or at least once in a while 🙂
