For our little trooper

It is with a heavy heart that I write today’s post for the blog.  It is not very often that I am faced with this dilemma, but it does happen.  As we all know people are faced with all sorts of things in life.  Many things are good and happy, some not so much!

My cousin is faced with one of the most heartbreaking things that a mother can be faced with.  Her precious four-year old baby boy has been diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia.  For those of you (like myself) that aren’t familiar with this it is NOT the common form of Leukemia.  The news came to them last Wednesday around five in the afternoon.  Their day has started like most other days, with the exception of the little one not feeling well.  So she made an appointment with her pediatrician only to receive the most heart breaking of phone calls later in the day.

I ask all of you as my blog friends to please keep the family in prayer.  This little one has been a trooper through all of the kaos the past several days.  His name is DJ Lanus, and he has a caring bridge page set up for him if you would like to visit the page.

God can and will conquer this horrible disease that is plaguing his little body.  His family is so strong and surely their faith is being tested, but they have faithfully prayed and thanked God for all of his blessings, for healing, and for peace.

So in honor of DJ today I am asking that each of you leave a comment with a small prayer, a bible verse, words of encouragement, advice, or anything that you can think of that I can share with his family.  Thanks for your continues support with the blog!

  1. I’m so sorry, Helen 😦 I’ll be praying for little DJ and his family. God can turn this around, and I pray that he gives all of you strength and encouragement during this time

  2. A Time for Everything

3 There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:

2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.

  3. Thinking of you, your family, your cousin, and the little guy. Such sad news and I am sending love and positive vibes your way. Keep us posted. xo

  4. I’m so sorry to hear this. My family will have little DJ and your family in our thoughts and prayers.
