Creepy facts

Spooky or not???? Tell me your thoughts.  To me  it is just another day, which usually means that I am working.  However, this year we do have one Friday 13th during the summer.  Our next one will be April 13th, and the last one will be July 13th.  So we will see, maybe the summer one will not be ordinary…….

Now I leave you with some facts about Friday 13!!

  • paraskevidekatriaphobia – this is apparently the term used to describe the fear of Friday the 13th.
  • this year there are three Friday 13ths as opposed to the usual two, and in 2011 we only had one.
  • for the first time since 1984, there are three Friday 13ths.
  • those three Friday 13ths are all exactly 13 weeks apart.
  • this year Friday 13ths are happening same year as leap, this apparently will not happen again until 2040.
  • the number 13 and Friday are recurring presences in mythological, spiritual and religious traditions
  • 13 people attended the Last Supper 
  • A Norse myth warns of dire consequences for dining in groups of 13.
  • Friday the 13th was the date the medieval Knights Templar were imprisoned.
  • rapper Tupac Shakur died on Friday, Sept. 13, 1996, after being gunned down Sept. 7.
  • For many pagans, 13 is a lucky number, because it corresponds with the number of full moons each year
  • in a 400-year period, the 13th falls on a Friday more than any other day: 688 times
  • the day has hosted some famous births, such as Fidel Castro and Butch Cassidy.

  1. Thanks for all of the interesting Friday the 13th trivia! I’m not superstitious, so I don’t even notice that it’s friday the 13th unless someone tells me.

  2. Ohhh loving those facts!
    Near where i live is a little town called Port Dover where every Friday the 13th motorcyclists from ALL OVER travel to meet up! Its crazy how many people go however today is a bad snow storm so i’m assuming its cancelled 🙂
